Hello!

Hi, first time actually doing this by myself so here goes trying. My name is Shanice, I enjoy simplicity and beautiful things. So, that's what this blog is about. Simplistic beauty through my eyes. Maybe something here will catch your eye as well.

Thanks!

Parking lot charm

These tire tracks are examples of what I take for granted. The tracks belong to a tractor, which cleans off smaller areas and to a truck which takes off the bulk of snow piled up in my school parking lot. I praise you here for your amazing work tractor/truck workers. Thank you for your service.

Spontaneous beauty

This photo I took on instant for it's obvious charm. Who doesn't love a good ol fashioned sunset between the tree's. Warms my heart with a blanket, hot cocoa, and a good book.

Nature in its finest form.

So here is some natural beauty in TRF. We have icicles off of a building and piles of wood stored away for a family in town. The snow coating the limber is the real nature I was going for in the wood pile photo. I love the texture and colors of each depiction of winter.

My artwork

So this is a painting by my own hand. It seems I only paint or sketch when I am emotional, thus I believe the results to that mirror my feelings at the time of their creation. Can you tell what i was feeling in this?

Artwork

I love artwork, especially the unique and interesting. This painting speaks to my creative mind and to my heart. To me, it shows a love that can never be.

Acts of Beauty

Here we have a child chilling in the Lazy River of my local water park. This place makes everyone happy and, in many cases, this is where all the family and friends come together and just have some good old fashioned fun. You can tell we really love gold and blue In TRF.
This photo of the Prowler hockey team and it's supporters, taken by Tim Kolehmainen, really unites everyone. Just so beautiful to me.

Beauty in Buildings

Here is some unique architecture from my town. I love fun designs and powerful buildings that really stand out amongst the rest.

Simply Ugly

With beauty, of course, comes ugly. This is about the ugliest thing I could think of and it occurs everyday to everyone. Negative peer pressure. It comes from friends, parents, the media, and just about anywhere you go. You don't even have to leave your house to see a commercial showing you a slim model advertising that thinner is better or a rich man showing smoking is powerful and cool. Negative peer pressure is just so ugly because it makes you feel ugly.

Necessities of Life (Mainly For Women)

Here we have store bought products that, not only make you more attractive, but are enticing to the eyes with their many colors. Yes, kind of a hippie saying, I know.

What's a girl without her lip gloss?
This is my Hello Kitty Ipod case given to me by my mother. Isn't it the cutest!?

King of Cool

Now here is a guy who is so not afraid to be himself, a.k.a. weird. There is not one thing normal about his video; however, I like his style and it's beautiful to me because he made something creative and profited from it. I know every word to this song :-)

Enticing Enough?

Here is an example of beauty through the use of technology.
